An Immortal's Kiss

Lost in death but still alive

Clouds of darkness fog my mind

Ancient youth kept by time

Reciting now this eternal rhyme

To a stranger now, I tell my tale

I wanted to win but was forced to fail

Rays of sunlight I've sorely missed

Since I received my immortal kiss

Child of darkness, born again

Old curses and rifts I try to mend

Blood of others running in my veins

Listen please while I explain

My fangs ache to pierce thy skin

But fires of guilt burn within

Inhaling the scent of New Orleans

I envy the mortals living out their dreams

Try as I may, this guilt does not leave

Night after night I continue to grieve

My sad regrets form a lengthy list

Since I received my immortal kiss
